Falmouth Cape House

In order to design an addition that remained inline with the client's budget, KMA maintained much of the existing home and structural elements, therefore the addition was overlaid and strategically modified to meet the goal of expand the Family Room and Master Bedroom, also introducing a Master Bathroom. Adding a Dining Nook allowed for an updated  kitchen layout and improved secondary access to the home.  Due to setback constraints, we introduced a vaulted ceiling at the Dining Nook to help the space look and feel bigger.  Further, the addition introduced elements that make this Cape Cod style home recognizable yet unique.

This home offers single level living and a strong connection to the outdoors. The homeowners can easily enjoy the wrap around deck or spend time in the expanded Family Room.  The exterior, clad in the Cape’s iconic Eastern white cedar shingles, will weather over time to that familiar gray. The alluring draw of the deck allows for outdoor living and relaxing throughout the summer and fall.
